I wrote my first post and realized something. That it was very unhelpful. It sucked. So you get this post instead.
This is as close to our official website as we'll be getting for a while. So maybe a mission statement of sorts would be a good first step.
This blog will be about my journey. My journey has, so far, culminated in Wild Dragon Games.
I
am Wild Dragon Games. Our aim is very simple: to make games. I know
this is an over-simplification, but to say we want to make "quality"
games, or "interesting" games is... redundant. It's obvious. So why say
it?
As
to what kind of games, let's just say that I'm flexible. I have 20+
game ideas written down ranging from simple number-mathing games to
complex 4X games and an even more complex time-travel-cliché-epic... thing.
I have built five "functional" prototypes and one non-functional one.
(This doesn't include the Candyland knockoff I made when I was, like,
9.) I think we're good for a while.
Those
are all tabletop games. They are not all viable; they are not all ready
to exist. Even some of the prototypes... need work. Some will never
even reach that stage. They are all mostly different.
Mind
you, I've been throwing together games since I was five. Ten years ago,
that was all video games. So there are 20+ video game ideas hanging
around in one form or another in my archives, too. Oh. And 4-10 tabletop
RPG systems.
As it is (really) just me, I think it best to take them one at a time.
Obviously, no game can be made just by myself. So I have help. (Thus the "we".) I intend to honour that help; however, they may not be the same help for every project, so I'll just have to credit people as each project comes up.
These are early days
for Wild Dragon Games. Early days indeed. All we have is a Discord
channel and this blog. We don't even have a BoardGameGeek entry. But
these things -- and more -- will come. And as they come, I will post
here (and on Discord). Maybe there's even a Patreon in our future. Who
knows.
The first few entries here will likely be rapid-fire, because we want to get somewhere soon. I will try to organize these entries as best I can.
We're planning a journey into the wild. Join us in our search for dragons.
