Schedule: WDG in October

We are so busy! There's the Kickstarter, Gamealot (this weekend!), a livestream, and the Spooky Geeky Market (Oct 26-27)! Not to mention my personal life (heh), Gamer's Den every Wednesday, and Giles Tenderworth's Monsters in the Dark. October is a very busy month for Wild Dragon Games!

Kickstarter

The Human-Hunter-Monster-Cannibal Kickstarter does not appear to be going well, but I'm learning something new every day! It will remain live until the end of Halloween because that was the plan. If it succeeds, fantastic! If it does not, then I'll spend six to 18 months reworking it and launch again.

I'll name the cards and the shirts will vanish! You've been warned!

In case you didn't know, HHMC is a colourblind-friendly card game for 2-5 players. It's Hearts meets a zombie apocalypse. (With NO zombies! it just has that nom-nom feel.) So it's a trick-taking game followed by a unique interactive scoring phase.

We're going to Gamealot this weekend! We'll be showing off our prototype to anyone who wants to stop by our table! It's also a great opportunity to try something new! Here's our schedule!

4 Oct., Friday - 16:00-20:00, Table 6, Main Room
5 Oct., Saturday - 9:00-13:00, Table 3, Main Room
6 Oct., Sunday - 12:00-16:00, Table 6, Main Room

From the website: Gamealot is a 2+1/2 day board game convention that brings novice and experienced players together to play games and raise funds for a local charity.

This year, that charity is the Veterans Association Food Bank! Playing games for a good cause! What more can you ask for?

And while we're at it, we're going to LIVESTREAM with TheRatHole.ca! Feel free to join us at Gamealot, Table 11, Main Room as we review Human-Hunter-Monster-Cannibal on Saturday, October 5th at 20:00! Or watch the livestream from the comfort of your own home!

Looking for something more in-line with the Halloween season? Something geeky and unique? Come to the Alberta Aviation Museum (11410 Kingsway NW) October 26th & 27th for the local Spooky Geeky Market! We'll be there with our booth, selling monster-themed swag (made locally) that you won't find anywhere else!

From their website: Free parking and entry by donation AARCS! ARRCS! ARRCS is a local pet recue that will have volunteers greeting you at the door to take donations for entry. They are also going to be bringing some adoptable pets for you to view!

The theme of the wares at this market are (but not limited to): Spooky, Horror, Anime, Fandoms, Geeky, and more! No MLMs, this is a craft and small local business market for your shopping pleasure! From décor and art, to sweats and treats, this market is going to be jam packed with fun! And as always, cosplay is welcome!

What's not to love? And the organizers are awesome folk, too! Come check it out!

As we've been doing for a while now, Wild Dragon Games is at Gamer's Den (11610-119th Street) every Wednesday from 14:00 to 17:00. We're going to continue doing this because the store owners are just really nice people and sometimes we get to show off our prototype!

Our Monsters in the Dark series has been interesting to develop. One video almost every day of the Kickstarter covering all 36 monsters in Human-Hunter-Monster-Cannibal? Yeah. Crazy. But it continues apace, and we're not stopping.

November is likely to slow down, relatively, but still be quite busy.

This month is your last chance to name a card in Human-Hunter-Monster-Cannibal! Whether we succeed or fail, those cards are getting named!

Anyway. That's the plan for this month. Catch you all another time.

Entry Number Zero: Mission Statement

I wrote my first post and realized something. That it was very unhelpful. It sucked. So you get this post instead. This is as close to our official website as we'll be getting for a while. So maybe a mission statement of sorts would be a good first step. This blog will be about my journey. My journey has, so far, culminated in Wild Dragon Games. I am Wild Dragon Games. Our aim is very simple: to make games. I know this is an over-simplification, but to say we want to make "quality" games, or "interesting" games is... redundant. It's obvious. So why say it? As to what kind of games, let's just say that I'm flexible. I have 20+ game ideas written down ranging from simple number-mathing games to complex 4X games and an even more complex time-travel-cliché-epic... thing . I have built five "functional" prototypes and one non-functional one. (This doesn't include the Candyland knockoff I made when I was, like, 9.) I think we...

Announcement: Human-Hunter-Monster-Cannibal LIVE on Kickstarter!

I have many faults. I have many weaknesses and fears. But I push through them and present to you--! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wilddragongames/human-hunter-monster-cannibal/ The "H" there is cut a bit. And poor Elizabeth Borden is basically hidden entirely. But that's fine . Human-Hunter-Monster-Cannibal, for those who don't know, is a trick-taking, hand-building game for 2-5 players designed from the ground up to be colourblind friendly. Take as much charge as you can of a 1450s village in the mountains or forest or desert and guide the spring festival that you might survive the monstrous conjunction. There are free stickers and shirts available for purchase, too. Stand with us against the dark. Back the game now and get it for earlybird pricing!  That's not everything, though. Are you curious about the monsters in our game? Where do they come from, how can they be avoided or killed? Join us for Giles Tenderworth's Monsters in the Dark , a series of...
